Everyone knows NASCAR weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway is full of high-speed, adrenaline-fueled racing action – but fans who come back year after year know there’s way more to NASCAR weekend than what happens on track.

Whether you’re attending a race at AMS for the first time or heading to the speedway is a tradition, there’s a ton of new attractions and fan favorites you don’t want to miss during the Ambetter Health 400 weekend Feb. 21-23:

Added fun for campers

Anyone who has camped at Atlanta Motor Speedway will tell you there’s no better way to experience a NASCAR weekend – and this year’s Ambetter Health 400 weekend is jammed with even more fun for campers to enjoy!

As previously announced, exterior campgrounds will open earlier this year and the biggest parties of the weekend – the THOR Camper Appreciation Party and the Party in the Peach Pit – are both back bigger and better than ever for the spring NASCAR weekend.

On top of that, campers can take a bike ride on the 1.54-mile speedway during the Pedal Power Party on Thursday, Feb. 20. That night is capped off with a quintessential camping activity: a new Camper Bonfire at The Gathering Place in the Legends Campground – open to all campers to come enjoy the fire, s’mores, and hot chocolate.

On Friday morning, Feb. 21, the Hauler Parade presented by Raceway Ministries sees the arrival of the driver’s chariots for the weekend’s racing – with the parade route going right through the campgrounds. Later that evening is the first of three days featuring an all-new activity for campers: laser tag – happening in the Peach Park in the infield Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. right before the Ambetter Health 400.

Race days get started the right way for campers, too; the Raceway Ministries Breakfast and Worship Service serves up free breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning in the Legends Premium Campground. Better yet, NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar will stop by on Saturday and star driver and team owner Denny Hamlin will be there on Sunday.

More to see in the Fan Zone

Race day doesn’t start when the green flag flies – the fun begins the moment fans arrive and enter the AMS Fan Zone outside the grandstands.

Free to all attendees, the Fan Zone is always packed full of cool exhibits from Atlanta Motor Speedway partners and entertaining attractions. The bar has been raised with this year’s Ambetter Health 400, featuring more for fans to see and do!

New to the AMS Fan Zone is the Sea Lion Splash sea lion show, an entertaining and informative presentation that showcases the relationship between an “adopted family” of rescued sea lions and their handlers. These sea lions not only show off their natural behaviors – they even teach kids how to recycle!

Returning fan favorites Canine Stars and the Red Trouser Show will dazzle and delight all weekend long; American Axes and carnival rides Cliff Hanger and Round Up are also back to deliver hands-on, free fun for fans. Plus the Kids Zone is full of games and activities for young race fans to enjoy.

There’s great way to recharge and refuel in the Fan Zone, too, with Chipotle Mexican Grill serving up Real Food for Real Fans at its mobile kitchen and a variety of delicious options in the food court. Aaron’s provides a great place to relax in the Aaron’s Fan Tent before setting off to make more memories.

An exhibit of historic racecars from the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame will captivate longtime diehard race fans and newbies alike – and fans who want to see what it’s like to drive on Atlanta’s high banks can hop in a simulator and turn laps around the daunting 1.54-mile oval before seeing the stars of NASCAR do the same.

All of this just scratches the surface of what fans can see and do in the Fan Zone Feb. 22-23; there’s so much more happening across the Fan Zone during race weekend, including all the activity at the Speedway Experience Powered by EchoPark.

Speedway Experience Powered by EchoPark

The Speedway Experience Powered by EchoPark Automotive is the epicenter of activity on the AMS Fan Zone during race weekend, with live entertainment, games, and driver appearances happening throughout the weekend!

The Speedway Experience is open during Fan Zone hours on Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23, with live music by Smokey Jones and the 3 Dollar Pistols on Saturday, a live performance by the Red Trouser Show on Sunday, and appearances from NASCAR drivers Noah Gragson, Daniel Suárez, Kyle Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Zane Smith. Plus other special guests will appear on the fan stage throughout the weekend, including Ambetter Health 400 grand marshal and ZZ Top front man Billy Gibbons at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Fans can get rising stars’ autographs in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series autograph session on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and meet NASCAR legend Michael Waltrip in a meet-and-greet on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. All the fun is capped off with the Speedway Children’s Charities Live Auction Sunday at 1:15 p.m. with great one-of-a-kind pieces of memorabilia being sold to benefit children’s causes in metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia.
