Ambetter Health 400 race week is officially underway with NASCAR fans from near and far starting to arrive at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Monday saw the first campers for Atlanta’s spring NASCAR weekend arrive to take advantage of every moment of fun and entertainment available between now and the checkered flag on Sunday.
A short drive up US Highway 19/41 was all that was needed for Brenda Hillard from Griffin to earn the title of “first camper” for the Ambetter Health 400 and continue her tradition of attending races at AMS that goes back decades. A longtime Jeff Gordon fan, Hillard is hoping to see Sunday’s Daytona 500 winner and the current driver of the No. 24 William Byron start the year two-for-two with a third career victory at AMS.
Thousands of people will join Hillard this weekend to cheer on their favorite racing heroes. All told, people from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 16 countries will be represented by attendees of this weekend’s Ambetter Health 400. This includes guests from seven Canadian provinces and fans traveling from as far away as Australia and Japan to see one of the most highly anticipated events on the NASCAR schedule.
