The Bennett Family of Companies will have a major presence in Atlanta Motor Speedway’s fall NASCAR weekend as part of a new partnership between the two Henry County companies.
The McDonough, Ga., headquartered company will be the entitlement partner for qualifying on Saturday, Sept. 7. Bennett Transportation and Logistics Qualifying will set the starting fields for the weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series events.
In addition to its sponsorship of the weekend’s time trials, Bennett will invite race fans to see its “Truck Show and Shine” at the speedway. Instead of hot rods or muscle cars, this exhibit will showcase powerful 18-wheelers during race weekend. The innovative transportation and logistics company will also celebrate the drivers of those massive machines, putting a spotlight on some of its most critical team members ahead of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Sept. 15-21. With their home office only 15 minutes from the speedway, the new partnership also allows Bennett to educate business owners on the company’s transportation and logistics solutions.
“Bennett has called Henry County home since we started 50 years ago and for decades we have had a wonderful relationship with Atlanta Motor Speedway,” said Lynette Mathis, Vice President of the Bennett Family of Companies. “We are excited to expose our brand to a whole new generation of race fans at AMS, where visitors won’t be able to miss our trucking-themed hospitality areas, Truck Show & Shine, Fan Zone truck driver recruiting booth and giant advertising banners. It will be a point of pride for all of the employees, truck drivers, freight agents and customers who have been loyal to Bennett throughout our 50 year history. On the track, they’ll be able to support our No. 21 Xfinity Series Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet driven by Georgia’s own Austin Hill. We look forward to honoring the top Bennett Transportation & Logistics Qualifiers this fall!”
“Being just up the road, we’ve seen first-hand the impressive operation Bennett has and the positive role they play in our local community,” said AMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Brandon Hutchison. “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with them to deliver an enhanced race weekend experience for our fans in 2024 and beyond.”
As part of the new partnership, Bennett - now the official trucking and logistics partner of AMS - takes over the renamed “Bennett Truck Stop”. Formerly known as the Restart Bar, this exclusive hospitality and viewing area overlooks the frontstretch of the speedway from the Earnhardt Grandstand.
Bennett will play a major role in the fall NASCAR weekend at AMS, which kicks off the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs in 2024 with the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart on Sunday, Sept. 8 (3 p.m. ET on USA Network, PRN Radio, SiriusXM). There’ll be high speeds and higher stakes as playoff contenders navigate 400 miles of intense, full-throttle superspeedway competition.
