The drag racing portion of tonight's Week 8 action in Atlanta Motor Speedway's O’Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags and Show-N-Shine has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
The series will resume with Week 9 next Friday, June 30, leading off with the Papa John’s Pizza Fireworks Extravaganza, one of south metro Atlanta’s biggest and most celebrated pyrotechnic displays, just after dark in celebration of Independence Day 2017. Grandstand gates will open at 6:30 p.m., and nightly drag race eliminations start just after 9 p.m. There is no extra cost to enjoy the fireworks show.
Drag racing armbands and grandstand tickets purchased tonight will be valid for either next Friday, July 30 or the following week on July 7. Street Wars II will be made up in its entirety on Friday, July 7.
Prior to the arrival of tonight’s wet weather, the Show-N-Shine competition featured everything from new imports to classic muscle cars and automobiles ranging as far back as the 1930s. Those vehicles then took part in the Speedway Cruise following judging.
